Swan Yamaha's Michael Laverty is depserate to turn around his British Superbike fortunes at Croft this weekend and carry through to raceday the pace he manages to find in practice and qualifying.
The Irishman has had a season to forget so far with crashes, tyre choices and arm-pump all conspiring to keep him off the podium's top step but he knows he has to get back into the top six and stay there for the rest of the season.
"I just need to turn my fortunes around this weekend at Thruxton. I have had the speed throughout the practices and qualifying but so far it just hasn't translated to the races and now I really need to be turning it into results and podium finishes," said the Toomebridge man.
"I was unlucky at Croft with the first race on the tyre choice and then in race two I had that crash; I need consistent finishes to try and gain back the ground I have lost now. I need to be back inside that top six in the standings, which is what we are capable of. I intend on going out there and doing the best possible job I can to get the Swan Yamaha back inside the top three and on that podium at Thruxton."
