HM Plant Honda’s Cal Crutchlow took second practice by the scruff of the neck and parked himself at the top of the timesheets with a six-tenths advantage over team-mate Leon Haslam. Karl Harris and Shane Byrne rounded off the 1m 15s men in front of Tom Sykes who claimed fifth just inside the 1m 16.1s.

Simon Andrews finished eighth following his morning nitnh place knocking a further second off his time, he continues his success from Brands Hatch where he proved he is one to watch this season.

Another rider who successfully took a chunk out of their time was Astushi Watanabe who hasn’t been to this track before and has proved his ability to learn tracks quickly to be competing with the best.

Sean Emmett was faster by half a second, but saw him fall from 16th to 21st this session, still a successful debut for AIM, but proves how much the other riders have already upped their game this weekend.

The noticeable man on the move was John Laverty yet again leading the cup championship, but this time finishing ahead of his brother Michael by a mere 0.02s.
