NW200 Yamaha's Dan Linfoot had to make a red-faced apology to his team boss Rob McElnea this afternoon after managing to crash his British Supersport bike while entering the pit garage.
Linfoot, who is sitting on provisional pole, came into his pit area too quickly and nearly missed the garage entrance and slammed on his back brake a bit too hard, causing the tyre to slide and grip, pitching him over the highside at barely walking pace.
"I always just use the rear brake to come into the pitbox because I don't want the front to go turning into it and erm, crash, before I get into the garage," said Linfoot, talking to bikesportnews.com this evening.
"But this time I nearly missed the garage altogether and stuck the back brake on, it slid and then the next thing I know I am on the floor but I landed on my feet, apparently."
There was no serious damage done to either Linfoot or the bike. Yet, anyway...
