Wilcock Consulting/J&L Motorcycle’s Dan Stewart continued his Metzeler Supestock 1000 Championship at Snetterton this weekend following his success at the Isle of Man TT obtaining his best ever result.
Stewart a regular to the BSB paddock also took part in the famous 37.73 mile road race taking a sixth in the Senior TT race, complimented by a ninth in both the Superstock TT and Superbike TT.
Stewart said: “I enjoy both road racing and the TT, I only do the TT, I do have a bit of a fancy to do the Ulster road race, but not this year. I’ve lost my first mechanic so its been quite difficult, it’s hard to find people who are reliable and willing to commit to giving up their time.”
After struggling in the first three rounds on the bike and missing the fourth due to the TT Stewart has reverted back to using his old bike as like most riders its hard to find time for any testing. It wasn't the best of weekends for the motorcycle dealer and at a track that he is not so keen on.
Stewart suffered a DNF even though he decreased his lap time throughout the practice and first qualifying session, but the weather interrupted any further progress from there on.
Still closely involved with main sponsor Graham Wilcock, Stewart returns to the paddock year after year since he started racing in 1996. In 2004 was his first time in the Senior Superstock category of which can’t get enough whilst additionally taking part in numerous road racing events becoming a regular, expected figure of the racing paddock.
Stewart said: “I just enjoy racing and I was aiming for top ten in the championship, it’s still early in the season so we will see.”
