Linfoot parts company with Sorrymate Honda

Harrogate toast-rack Dan Linfoot has this morning split from his Sorrymate Honda British Superbike team after another indifferent set of results at the Snetterton round yesterday.

Aside from a couple of brilliant flashes, Linfoot hasn't gelled with the Robin Croft-run Fireblade and is happy to step away from the ride. He spoke with the team this morning and they have parted in an amicable fashion. Linfoot will travel to Albacete this weekend for a Spanish Moto2 race.

"It's a shame because I had hoped we could make some progress with the bike but there are just a few technical things that I can't get round, so after yesterday we chatted and decided to split," said Linfoot, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.

"It was all amicable and I wish them all the best for the future. I will keep an eye out for a ride in the championship, obviously, but now I'm going to look ahead to Albacete. There are three Moto2 rounds I could do there, so I can keep riding this year.

The team are in the process of finding a replacement and will announce who it is shortly.
