Ellison will return to BSB as Linfoot replacement

PTR Honda World Supersport rider James Ellison will spend the rest of the season doubling with British Superbike duties as long-time sponsor Robin Croft has drafted him in to replace the recently-departed Dan Linfoot at Sorrymate Honda.

The young Yorkshireman split amicably with Croft's team this morning and the likeable team boss was straight on the phone to Ellison, who he has personally sponsored since 2004, to see if he could ride in both championships.

"It's been a busy day but I've spoken to James and he has confirmed this afternoon he is able and wants to race in both championships so he will be on the bike for the rest of the season," said Croft, speaking to bikesportnews.com this afternoon.

"I must say a big thanks to Simon Buckmaster for being very understanding and allowing James to race in both series. Now we can have a strong run to the end of the season."
