Second HM Plant ride for Jones as he defends Triumph Title

Hereford's Luke Jones is to ride for  M Plant Honda for a second time at Brands Hatch in the seventh round of the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 championship which takes place in two weeks time.

Jones finished just outside the points in 16th in horrendous conditions at Oulton Park after being asked to step in for the still injured Jason O'Halloran. Reviewing his debut weekend with the team, he said: “I had a fantastic weekend at Oulton Park riding for HM Plant Honda, everyone was very welcoming.”

“The Fireblade is a great bike and during practice and qualifying I did as many laps as I could to change my riding style from a 600cc to a 1000cc. I got a good start and I just carved my way through on the opening lap as I had a good start. Everyone was quite tentative and as we went into Shell Oils Corner the back came round and I was out of the seat," he said.

“It did happen a couple of times and I think I just needed to make some changes to the rear in those conditions. After a few laps it was affecting my pace and I lost a few places. Nobody likes to see a red flag but I thought that it might give us a chance to make a few changes, but unfortunately it was declared a result. I just need to thank the HM Plant Honda Team and everyone involved with the team for giving me the opportunity to ride for them this weekend.

Jones currently leads the Trimph Triple Challenge and will, as scheduled, take part in the series at the next round in addition to his Senior Superstock challenge.
