Lincs Lifting Limited's Gary Johnson qualified 12th and battled his way to throught to take a seventy and fifth place this weekend at Cadwell Park in the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship as he returns to running his own team for the remainder of the 2011 season.
The team Johnson was previously riding for has now dispanded but after purchasing the bike that he successfully rode in the TT. Johnson will continue to work along side his usual mechanics as the season continues. His previous deal also included road racing events so at one point what lied ahead looked bleak.
Talking to www.bikesportnews.com, Johnson talks about the recent change and the future, he said: “I am gutted, the team have been really good with us; the boss, everybody has been fantastic and it's been working well for us, but today's ecomony and outside commitments meant he just couldn't carry on.”
“At least I have had some good results that I can work with to get something sorted for next year whether I run myself or do something else. Macau is coming up and I am with crescent Suzuki,that's nice and positive. There are some silver linings in the dark cloud at the moment. I also got me a TT win.”
In a short space of time Johnson has put his 2011 season back on track and goes to Macau riding John Hopkins bike and in one of the biggest and strongest racing setup's currently in the paddock while continue to pick up strong points in the Supersport championship.
