Moto Rapido Ducati's Scott Smart had to content with a self-imposed rev limit for all three British Superbike Evo races at Cadwell Park which meant he didn't quite have enough pace on the long Park Straight to try and stay with the full FIM-spec bikes.
Smart managed to put his 1198S on the podium three times over the weekend and make some inroads into third place in the championship. However, the slight downturn in power was because the team elected to stick to the stock rev limit as a test after some technical issues.
“It was a great weekend and I’m really pleased with the way everything went. We were a little bit down on top speed with the bike but that was planned so we will be back to full power before we head to Donington Park in two weeks,” said Smart.
“Three podiums in as many races is a great feeling. We certainly had the measure of plenty of the full Superbikes but just couldn’t find a way past them on this narrow track. The team worked hard all weekend and I couldn’t have asked for any more.”
