Andrews aims to be 'back on feet' in November

British Superbike and Isle of Man TT star Simon Andrews wants to be back on his feet and into proper training by the end of November so he can concentrate on attaining the right level of fitness before the start of next year's BSB season.

Andrews, who was presented with a mobility scooter by his PR Kawasaki team at the Donington Park round so he can get around the paddock, is regularly visiting the gym to do upper body strength work but needs to be giving himself a full and regular work-out.

"I have been working with Mark at M10 Fitness and Bodyshocker supplements to help with my aversion to anything that resembles a vegetable along with pushing my surgeon to allow me to get on with training. I want this cage off my leg so I can get back to a proper regime so keeping my body functioning is important physically and to keep me bloody sane!," said Andrews, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.

"In previous years, I have done altitude training at Meribel over the winter and I want to be in a position to have that option again in future life. I definitely want to be back on my feet and without crutches by the end of November, I'm already now walking with one crutch. The time off allows for me to think seriously about next season which I'm already working on."
