Rapid Ducati's Michael Rutter will assess his fitness on Friday at the Silverstone British Superbike round before making a decision on whether to race but the veteran had hoped to be stronger for the final two rounds than he is.
Rutter is still suffering from the after effects of his collision with Josh Brookes at Cadwell Park where he cracked some ribs in a Hall Bends crash and the Midlander says he still has a few more days rest that he hopes will make the difference.
“We have a similar scenario to the one we had before Donington Park where I want to get out and race, but we will have to assess the situation on Friday before free practice. I was hoping to be stronger by now but we still have a few days so hopefully that will make the difference," said Rutter.
"I have been looking forward to the three Showdown rounds all season as those are the tracks that we know the Ducati generally works best at and that we would be able to have some good results. I want to get back out there again on the Rapid Solicitors-Bathams Ducati because I know we can finish the season with the results we deserve, I certainly wouldn’t discount podiums from the team before the end of the year!”
