TT ace Gary Johnson has signed to ride for the GBmoto Honda National Superstock 1000 team for the final two rounds of the Metzeler-backed series, starting at Silverstone this weekend.
Johnson won his first Isle of Man race this year and replaces Aussie Alex Cudlin who has returned Down Under to undergo treatment on a badly injured knee, sustained in an unfortunate warm-up lap incident at Donington Park.
"This came a bit out of the blue, but I'm really happy Mark has given me the opportunity to ride with GBmoto Racing in the last two rounds. As everyone knows I am no stranger to the National Superstock 1000 championship, I did the last few rounds last year on a Honda and we were running in the top five," said the Lincolnshire man.
"After a bit of adjustment from the 600 Supersport to the 1000, I hope I can repay Mark with some strong results. I know things won't be easy, as there a lot of quick lads and quick bikes out there, but I'm going to knuckle down and put in the hard work."
