MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Gary Mason will have a less vicious 2012 Evo bike to ride during this weekend's British Superbike penultimate round at Silverstone after a test at the circuit smoothed out the fuelling maps.
Mason debuted the bike at Donington Park and gave a good account of himself at a meeting which was effectively a test. The new spec ZX-10R is a little more even on tyres but team boss Nick Morgan is looking for ways to make it kinder still.
“It was good to get out at Silverstone last week, you can concentrate on making changes and not be chasing lap times. The lads spent some time on the fuel mapping side to make it a bit more user friendly, so getting on and off the throttle was tamed. It was definitely less vicious and more progressive. I’m excited for this weekend to be honest, lets hope the weather stays dry and we can get some decent results given the spec of the bike," said Mason.
