Crockford, Neill flown to hospital after Superstock 1000 crash

Veteran racers Marshal Neill and John Crockford were both taken to hospital by the air ambulance following separate crashes in today's Metzeler National Superstock 1000 final which was subsequently abandoned.

On the opening lap of the race, Richard Cooper and Marshal Neill fell at Dingle Dell in separate incidents. The race was immediately placed under safety car conditions. At the end of this lap, John Crockford collided with the rider immediately ahead of him, Freddy Pett on the Brabham Straight. The race was immediately red flagged and medical services were dispatched to both incidents.

Crockford sustained multiple injuries and is now in the Royal London Hospital while Neill, who was knocked out for a few moments, is now in the capable hands of King's College, London for more scans. Richard Cooper wasn't hurt and Freddy Pett sustained minor injuries.
