WFR Honda pairing James Westmoreland and Graeme Gowland have started their 2012 British Superbike preparations early with a two-day test at the Spanish Guadix circuit and have now arrived at Cartagena to do it all again tomorrow and Thursday.
The team tried a variety of suspension settings and a FTR swingarm at Guadix, which was described as 'a bit mucky' by Westmoreland, but he added that he and Gowland have done some important work, as well as fine-tuning some basics.
"Even though I rode the bike for three rounds last year, I still wanted to get the riding position exactly right for me. We have tested some swingarm options and various other things. Do far it has been good and we can carry on at Cartagena," said Westmoreland, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.
"Guadix was a bit mucky and we weren't setting any lap records but we didn't go there to do that. I think Cartagena will be better as it is used more. We want to be in the best position possible for next year and this is a great start."
