Housewives' favourite Chris Walker says he has been sacked from the Primo Kawasaki British Superbike squad and replaced by Superstock regular Joe Burns for the 2012 season.

Writing on his Walker the Stalker blog, the three-time BSB runner-up says team boss Dan Cheevers hasn't been in touch despite several handshakes on the ride and he is now looking for another seat for next season. Burns has been confirmed alongside James Hillier in the Primo Bournemouth Kawasaki team.

"I sadly have to report that Pr1mo Racing have flicked me for the young up and comer Joe Burns for Twenty Twelve. I don’t know all the ins & outs as yet as the team boss Dan Cheevers has failed to call me but it appears he has had yet another U-turn after three separate handshakes on three different occasions for next season and using my name to help them qualify for the Elite Teams entry," he said.

"It’s a real shame it’s at my cost and the timing could have been somewhat better as most of the teams have their rider line up sorted by now but I do wish Joe Burns all the best for next season aboard a Superbike and a great one at that.

"I’m just picking up the pieces and trying to find something that will see me on the grid on a competitive bike and for a somewhat more stable team… fingers & toes crossed. I truly believed a second year on the same bike and with the new rule changes would have seen me close the gap on the top teams and fight for a place in the top six showdown."

Cheevers said: "I am delighted that we have been able to secure two, new, up and coming riders for the 2012 season and we aim to give them the right tools to further their racing careers. Joe came on board mid-way through last season and had some impressive rides in the Superstock class. He showed great potential and has the talent to succeed in the Superbike class. Joshua Elliott is a phenomenal young talent, who has tested the ZX10R last season, and will definitely be a star of the future.

"Both riders will be on new machinery for next season, so we will have a busy testing schedule in place, but we are looking forward to working with two of the brightest prospects in British racing. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Chris Walker for his efforts last season. He done a tremendous job in helping us develop the race bike and has been a great ambassador for the Pr1mo brand and we wish him well for the future.
