British Superbike regular Dan Linfoot looks set to sign a deal this week that will bring him back into the series for 2012 after the young Yorkshire tea-strainer decided that a domestic path was better for his career than riding abroad.
The Harrogate twenty-something, who has just undergone preventative arm-pump surgery, is in final talks with a well-respected BSB outfit and could well sign on the dotted line by the end of the week. Well, not sign as he is still in pain but mark it with his thumb. Or get his mum to do it.
"It's looking quite promising for 2012 now. I think we are pretty close to securing a ride with a team that always fields well turned out machinery and those bike should be more than competitive with the new rules," said Linfoot, speaking to bikesportnews.com while playing Legend of Zelda's Nan on his 3DS.
"My surgery went well and it was a good thing it was done before we started racing. I hadn't experienced arm-pump before this year and had to pull in once because of it. When they tested me, my right arm was nearly off the chart, so I went over to Belgium and had it sorted before it became a problem."
