Swan Yamaha boss Muir confirms Hutchinson leg fracture

Swan Yamaha boss Shaun Muir has this evening confirmed Ian Hutchinson has fractured his damaged left leg in a freak accident at the MCN Excel Show but the injury is away from the original breaks caused by his 2010 Silverstone crash.

Hutchinson is currently waiting to go into surgery to have an external fixator put on the leg and should be out of hospital in a day or so. His testing programme for BSB is still going ahead, depending on how the injury heals. This will be the 17th operation the Bingley man has undergone and only recently had the original cage taken off.

"It's blow for Ian and the team but it could have been far worse. He will have an operation to put the side fixator on his leg tonight and hopefully he will be out of hospital in the next day or so," said Muir, speaking to bikesportnews.com this evening.
