Moto Rapido Ducati's Scott Smart is concentrating on getting the most from the mid-range of his 1199 Panigale ahead of this afternoon's British Superbike qualifying session at Brands Hatch.

The former 500GP rider is taking a hands-on approach with the fuelling of the bike but says the chassis and amount of power coming from the new Bologna bullet are a fantastic combination.

"There were some concerns because it is a brand new chassis but is turns so nicely and the amount of power we have is more than enough, I just need to get the drive-by-wire working a bit better mid-range and we will be much nearer the laptimes I think I am capable of running," said Smart, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.
