Brands BSB: Superbike race two called off due to poor track conditions

Today's second British Superbike race has been called off due to track contaminations making it too dangerous to continue. Wet conditions have seen many crashes over the past couple of days at the Kent track and, after a rider inspection, it was deemed too dangerous to run the second leg.

Moto Rapido Ducati's Scott Smart was one of the first riders on track and he said: "I don't know what has caused it but it is pretty slippery." Stuart Easton added: "I got on to the throttle in a straight line when I went out and it span up. It's too dangerous."

"We have worked very hard to clean the track after the contamination but unfortunately it has been a unanimous decision by the riders, teams and officials to reschedule this race to another event. It is a terribly frustrating situation but safety remains paramount," said race director Stuart Higgs.
