Haga welcomes a return to form with debut BSB podium

Swan Yamaha's Noriyuki Haga has welcomed a return to form with his debut British Superbike podium over the weekend at Oulton Park.

The Samurai of Slide battled with team-mate Tommy Hill for the win in Sunday's race one before struggling with grip in race two which saw his grid position for race three drop down the order

“It is awesome for me and Swan Yamaha to be on the podium. I was enjoying the first part of the race as we had a good battle and I felt really positive, maybe if the race had not been stopped then it could have been different but I know that Tommy has done a lot more laps here than me. I think I can say, ‘Welcome back to Nori!'," said Haga.

“It hasn’t been a bad weekend as we had our first podium finishes but in the second race I had struggled a bit with grip where the conditions changed. In race three I think with a better grid position we could have been higher up the order like in race one," said the Japansese rider.

"I also made a bad start and then I gave myself work to do and where I pushed to pass the other riders I used my tyre too quickly and then I didn’t have enough for the end of the race. I am happy to have shown our speed this weekend and I think Snetterton we will come back and fight again.”
