Quattro Kawasaki British Superbike star Gary Mason fought off car-jackers who tried to steal a Nissan GTR at the Star City car park in Birmingham.

Mason was with fiancee Rachel Chilvers as he pulled into a parking space at the complex and was accosted by two masked men. Mason fought off the attackers, who demanded the keys to the vehicle, and they sped off empty-handed in a black Volkswagen Golf.

"One of them wore a balaclava and the other a scarf. They demanded we got out of the car and handed them they keys, which I wasn't about to do. I scuffled with one of them and when they realised I wasn't giving up, they ran," said Mason, speaking to bikesportnews.com at Snetterton.
