Mar-Train Yamaha's Jack Kennedy pulled off a stunning British Supersport double at Snetterton to increase his lead over Glen Richards in the title standings, nicking the second win by fractions of second in the drag to the line.
Kennedy was part of a race-long, five-man dice for the win which also included the Smiths Triumphs of Billy McConnell and Richards who eventually took the podium spots but Kennedy now leads the series by 27.5 points.
“What a weekend it has been: it’s my first double and the team’s first double and we’ve extended our lead in the championship table. Race one on Saturday went to plan but race two on Sunday was a lot closer with more riders to battle with. I’m really happy to get that win, as I was third out of the last corner! Big thanks to the team as always, all our sponsors and my mum and dad. I’d like to dedicate the wins at the weekend to Tony Bannon who sadly passed away during the week," said Kennedy.
Richards added: "I tried to keep out of trouble and I knew I was never going to get away so I didn't get too worried about it I just prepared myself for the last lap. I got past Billy on the second to last corner and he got back and we both went wide and Jack was on the right line so he was lucky and picked up the pieces. That's the way it goes sometimes and that's racing. I'm happy enough, I just needed to beat Jack in that race for the championship, now he's some 30-odd points ahead and it's hard to get those back."
