Mason quits Quattro Kawasaki ahead of Knockhill BSB

Gary Mason has this morning split with the Quattro Kawasaki British Superbike team.

The Lichfield rider has cited the team's inability to meet contractural commitments as the main reason behind his departure and also continued technical problems with the ZX-10R.

"Continued technical failures leave me languishing in 19th position in the Championship with only two-point scoring finishes and six non-finishes. Lack of pre-season testing due to budgetary restrictions can be held mainly responsible for this sad situation and my disappointment has been further compounded when the team was unable to meet its contracted commitments in recent months," said Mason.

"I've therefore taken the difficult decision to withdraw from the team with immediate effect. I would would like to take this opportunity to thank all of myloyal sponsors, particularly John Murphy at Quattro Plant, for their on-going support."
