Knockhill BSB: Cooper secures two-race Supersport seat

British Supersport front runner Dan Cooper has temporarily filled the vacant seat in the Gearlink Kawasaki team after they parted company with David Jones before Snetterton.

After starting the year with Hampshire Motorcycles for the first two rounds, Cooper was given a ride at the North West 200 by Gearlink and was consequently offered the ride in the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship.

“We've known Dan for a long time and we were very happy with the way things went at the North West and looked to continue this into BSB. The biggest stumbling block at the moment is finance. Dan will definitely ride for us at Knockhill and then at Oulton Park but from there on neither of us can make the commitment to say yes,” said team principal Mike de Bidaph, speaking to bikesportnews.com

“It is still open for discussion so hopefully Dan can impress and someone will come along and help him out so he can stay with us for the remainder of the season because a man of Dan’s talent and experience shouldn’t be without a ride in this championship.”
