Tyco Suzuki's Josh Brookes says he still has work to do this evening depsite qualifying on the front row for tomorrow's MCE British Supebrike double-header at Brands Hatch.
The Bringelly man picked himself up from a free practice crash (see below) after having to take evasive action when coming across a slower rider and reckons he doesn't seem to have the same pace than at the start of the year when he set a race lap record of 1'25.4s compared to today's time of 1'26.3. Almost all the riders have been slower compared to their times from earlier in the season.
"I did come into the weekend feeling quite confident after a good performance here at the end of last season, but I haven't been quite getting the confidence I need to match those lap times," said Brookes.
"After the crash this morning I had to use the first qualifying session as practice; then we made a few suspension changes to improve the bike. I was dripping with sweat as I really tried so hard to bridge that gap, and although we are on the front row, we still have a bit of work to do for tomorrow."
