Brands BSB: Dixon wins Superstock 600 scrap

Moto-Breaker Yamaha’s Jake Dixon took his second Metzeler National Superstock 600 victory of the year this afternoon at Brands Hatch, eventually beating team-mates James Lodge and James Rose.

Dixon got a poor start from fifth on the grid, dropping to the back of the leading group. However Jake, the son of former World Sidecar Champion Darren, fought his way through to take the win.

He passed Lodge with two laps to go but the two time British 125 Champion couldn’t find a way through. Rose made sure that Moto-Breakers boxed of the podium but also closed in on Ben Burke’s Championship lead, reducing it to 15 points with the Aussie finishing fourth.

Matthew Paulo dropped back to fifth after battling for the lead earlier in the race. Chris Walker Race School’s Lee Jackson managed to beat Johnny Blackshaw and Alex Olson to take sixth, after Bjorn Estment crashed out of sixth at Druids, but only by a tenth of a second.

Josh Wainwright and Mark Wilkinson, on the Seton Yamaha, rounded out the top ten.
