WFR Honda's Alex Lowes will force himself to remain calm at this weekend's Donington Park MCE British Superbike round in order to ensure he remains in the Showdown and has a shot at the 2012 title.
The now-local man has ditched his 'rostrum-or-hospital' reputation and rode with maturity at Cadwell Park to move into a Showdown spot. He intends to keep that sense of calm about him and fend off challenges from Ian Lowry and the crocked Noriyuki Haga.
“My goal is stay in the top six to be in the Showdown. The results at Cadwell Park had been a long time coming and were deserved for the team that has worked really hard to get there. Donington Park is my favourite track, and now I live in Derby it is also my home circuit. We tested well there and I am feeling as good as I can, riding the best that I can, so now I have to stay calm and ride for the results that are needed," said Lowes.
