Silverstone BSB: 'I had to bail out' - Byrne

Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki rider Shane Byrne had no option but to jump off his ZX-10R in the second MCE British Superbike free practice session at Silverstone today.

The two-time champion is already nursing a shoulder injury picked up at Cadwell Park but fortunately walked away from this incident without making it worse, requiring only some ice for his hand.

"It was a strange crash as when you are on the limit you can expect it, but it was only my second lap out! It flicked me up and I came back down on the bike and was heading into the gravel at a fair rate of knots so I had to bail out! I am ok though and ready for tomorrow," said Byrne.
