Seton Yamaha's Graeme Gowland claimed top in the second Motorpoint British Supersport session of the weekend at Brands Hatch, after this morning's first session was a write-off due to the Baltic conditions.
Former Spanish Supersport Champion Gowland put in the fastest lap of the session with his last, a 47.972 second lap time, which is over one and half seconds off of the lap record set by Sam Lowes back in 2010. Smiths of Gloucester Triumph rider, Billy McConnell, was second fastest ahead of the Gearlink Kawasaki pairing of the 2011 Supersport Champion, Alastair Seeley, and Ben Wilson.
Reigning Champion, Glen Richards, was a pace setter for the majority of the session but his lap time of 48.249 was only good enough for fifth fastest by the time the chequered flag was brought out. First of the Cup competitors was Supersport rookie Jake Dixon in sixth, just under half a second behind Gowland's fastest lap. Samsung Honda's Jason O'Halloran was seventh quickest ahead of the former National Superstock 1000 Champion Richard Cooper.
Rounding out the top ten was the Mar-Train Yamaha pairing of Scotsman Stuart Easton and Northern Irishman Glenn Irwin, with the top ten covered by just 0.577 of a second.
