Brands BSB: Richards 'disappointed' with form

Reigning Motorpoint British Supersport champion Glen Richards said he was not happy with his performance this weekend, especially with his team-mate, Billy McConnell, enjoying two podium finishes at Brands Hatch.

However, the Adelaide rider said he expected the series to be tough and his Smiths Triumph team are still working on 'fine tuning' the new Daytona 675.

"I'm not happy with my performance at all this weekend. I'm happy with the bike though and that's a positive to take from the weekend. There is still some stuff to work on but it's a new bike so I expected that we'd be working on getting it to run properly early on," said the number one plate holder, speaking to bikesportnews.com this evening.

"It's just the first round so there's a long way to go. I wasn't prepared to push on the limit and crash, with Thruxton just five days away. We need to be improving not preparing before round two. I knew it would be tough this year and I've been proved right. We'll just have to wait and see how I get on at Thruxton."
