Thruxton BSB: ‘I wanted to win big’ - Byrne

Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki rider Shane Byrne was today crowned the most successful race winner in MCE British Superbike history, with forty four wins to his name. At Thruxton he did the double coming first in both races, and the triple champion knew just how important this weekend was to him and his team.

“I wanted to win this race, as this race was important. It is the race that makes me the most successful race winner ever, and I wanted to win it big. I was looking around at Alex and I was thinking just give me a break, but it panned out in the end, and it was declared a race result after so few laps.” Said the reigning British Superbike Champion.

“In the first race today we had some problems, I had some issues with the front break which caused a lot of vibration on the bike, and we had some issues with the front suspension. But in race two my pace was much faster. So it is a double win, and hopefully long may these wins continue.”
