The Fife circuit, hosting the Steve Hislop Knockhill round, will see his fellow Scots Niall Mackenzie and Stuart Easton, joined by friend and rival, James Whitham, pay their tribute as they lap the circuit on bikes from the Hislop era. Mackenzie and Whitham will be aboard Cadbury’s Boost Yamahas – Hislop remember as a team-mate of Mackenzie took third place in the overall rankings in 1998 riding in those colours..
Easton will be riding a replica of the 2002 season MonsterMob Ducati which took Hislop to eight victories, and his second crown – the first back in 1995 had also been achieved riding Ducati. The actual title winning MonsterMob Ducati will be on static display at the circuit, along with the other three bikes.
There will also be a display, courtesy of the Hizzy Museum, of a selection of leathers, helmets, photos and other memorabilia in the Tribute room which is attached to the Clubhouse in the main Paddock
Back on track the riders taking part in the MCE BSB races will also be chasing an additional piece of silverware. The Flying Haggis Trophy, inaugurated in 2004 by Steve’s mother Margaret will be presented to the rider setting the fastest lap in the two races.
