Reigning MCE Britsh Superbike Champion Shane Byrne has fired a warning shot ahead of this weekend's Snetterton encounter, saying he doesn't go anywhere to finish in second place.
The Kent man tested at the Norfolk circuit last week and although he ended the day third fastest and only a tenth bhind title challenger Alex Lowes, he said it could have been better.
“The test there did not quite go to plan – I like the track, like the bike but we struggled a little bit with things to try as there were so many red flags and it was difficult to get into a rhythm," said Byrne, speaking ahead of the weekend.
"So, it wasn’t ideal but the team have gone through all of the data and can see where I was not happy and they can rectify it. That means we can go back for the races in a fair shape and I don’t go anywhere to finish second. I’m not worried about being third fastest in the test, the job was to test new stuff and we worked through our programme.”
