Milwaukee Yamaha rider James Ellison has struggled with setup so far this weekend but is confident that suspension changes before qualifying will help the Cumbrian make up the time that he is currently losing in the first two sectors of the Snetterton 300 track.
Ellison was sixth fastest in this morning’s final MCE British Superbike free practice session, clocking his best time of 1’49.378, but the Brit has been experiencing problems on corner exit.
“We are finding little bits and we are really strong on the brakes coming out of the corners and we are improving and now we are struggling in other areas, and we just trying to find that fine balance,” said Ellison, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the circuit.
“Yesterday we were struggling coming into corners and I was rushing in and losing the drive coming out, and now I am getting the hang of it, but it is one thing after another. We need to work on sector one and sector two which is a new part of the circuit so I am still finding my feet around there and not attacking the corners like I am used to, but I need to find something as the bike is really good.
“I think we will get there, as we are always good in the race but I am not too confident for qualifying as we are making small changes to the suspension to try and help in a couple of areas on sector one and sector too, which will hopefully help in qualifying.”
