Team AHR Yamaha's Jordan Simpkin took Pirelli National Superstock 600 victory in comfortable fashion, extending his championship lead to 28 points over the second place finisher, Luke Hedger, whilst securing his second victory of the year.
Pole setter, Hedger, took the holeshot from Manxman Callan Cooper, who got a great start from the second row. However, championship leader Simpkin quickly got past the two youngsters and began to pull away. The Yamaha rider posted a new lap record on his way to a 3 second gap over the rest of the field. Despite backing off the pace in the final laps, Simpkin was still able to cruise home, just under two second ahead of the chasing pack.
The battle for the final two spots on the podium was more closely contested with Cooper making his way through to second place with two laps remaining. The CF Motorsport rider gapped half a second over Hedger on the last lap before crashing out at Williams. This allowed Gearlink Kawasaki's Hedger to take his fourth consecutive second place finish, ahead of Haribo Triumph's Chrissy Rouse, who secured a podium finish in a one-off ride covering for Joe Collier.
Chris Walker Race School's Mason Law came home in fourth, his best ever finish, ahead of the Aussie duo of Levi Day and Mark Wilkinson. HWW Racing's Grant Whitaker got the better of Tom Fisher on the last lap to take eighth, with Seton Yamaha's James Mutton and Ben Godfrey rounding out the top ten. A remarkable twelve riders fell victim to the heat throughout the race with the heat and subsequent lack of grip proving to be an issue for the young, inexperienced riders.
