'Crunch time' for Lowes at Cadwell BSB

Samsung Honda's Alex Lowes is ready for the Showdown part of this year's MCE British Superbike season and says starting from the upcoming Cadwell Park round this weekend, it's crunch time.

The Derby-based youngster tested at the track last week and found some small improvements to his Fireblade but reckons it is now down to him to up his game and claim as many podium credits as he can. Lowes is currently tied on 21 with Josh Brookes, with Shane Byrne on 33.

“We have done some testing and found some improvements and any time spent on the bike is good – these races excite me as it is my home round and I scored my first ever BSB podium finish there. It is a nice feeling to be able to go back there knowing that there is a chance of winning races," said Lowes.

"But, I also need to start riding better, be more consistent, find a bit more speed and continue to work on my fitness. This is the crunch time of the season and while I am already in the Showdown I need to see how close we can get to Shane Byrne in the standings to be in the best position possible when that starts at Assen. I have to go to Cadwell and win.”
