Injury forces Buchan out of Assen Supersport clash

Seton Yamaha's Danny Buchan won't take part in this weekend's Motorpoint British Supersport round at Assen after crashing heavily in testing at Silverstone.

The Essex based rider crashed heavily at the Northamptonshire circuit last Thursday, and was taken to hospital for an elbow injury and kept under observation. Danny was subsequently discharged in the early hours of Friday morning. However, concussion and the elbow injury have now ruled Danny out of contention for points this coming weekend.

“It is a great shame that the team will not be making the trip to Assen. After last year, it proves to be a fantastic event but our priority has to be Danny and his return to full health. By withdrawing him from this round, it gives Danny a few more weeks before the penultimate round at Silverstone at the beginning of October," said team boss Phil Seton.

"I have been to visit Danny and he is in good spirits but in light of his injuries, this is the correct choice in terms of rider safety. Everyone at Seton Tuning Yamaha wishes Danny a speedy recovery.”
