Youngster Ben Field has been wheeled in to replace the injured Simon Andrews and will race the RAF Reserves Honda at this weekend's Silverstone Pirelli National Superstock 1000 round and at Brands Hatch.
Andrews will fly home today after spending the last two weeks in hospital following his massive Le Mans Crash. Field, who is also racing in the Ducati 848 Challenge, will fill his shoes and make his Superstock debut.
“I would like to thank the RAF Reserves team and its manager, Lee Hardy, for giving me the opportunity to ride the remaining two rounds; I am looking forward to working with the team and riding the Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade," said Field.
"The National Superstock class is the natural step I was looking to progress to for 2014 and I am under no elusions as to how competitive and fierce this championship is. I wish Simon all the best with his recovery and I have big shoes to fill, but I am confident that I can do all the team and sponsors proud.”
