Milwaukee Yamaha boss Shaun Muir has spoken about signing Josh Brookes and Tommy Bridewell to his MCE British Superbike team for 2014.

Brookes has spent the last three seasons with the Tyco Suzuki team, formerly Relentless, but felt it was time for a change while Bridewell's performances in the Showdown part of this season were enough to convince team-boss Shaun Muir he should keep hold of the Devizes rider .

"Josh was my main target to partner Tommy for 2014 and I am over the moon to have him join the team. We have watched him over the years and believe his riding style will suit the Yamaha perfectly.In reality, its a career move for Josh, he needs to win a championship to open up his opportunity on the world stage. We have every belief he can succeed in doing that,” said Muir, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.

"It is obviously our aim to win the British Superbike title in 2014 and we have two riders capable of doing it. I also think Josh will be a great partner for Ian on the roads. He rode incredibly well at the TT to set that kind of laptime this year and to come tenth in the Superbike in his debut ride was outstanding.

"Ian is returning after a long layoff through injury but there is no doubt he will be fast and Josh will be able to learn a lot from him. Hutchy will also ride in BSB at the first two rounds, with plans for the remainder of the year still to be decided.

Bridewell was drafted in to the Milwaukee setup just before the Assen round and impressed immediately, bagging a podium in Holland and then two more at Silverstone - performances that secured him his 2014 spot before Brands Hatch.

"It was always our intention to sign Tommy for 2014 when he joined the team at Assen and it was a perfect opportunity for us to see how he would fair on the Milwaukee Yamaha. He has not disappointed us. He is a very underrated rider and a really clever guy. I like his work ethic and he is usually the last person to leave the garage in the evening after trying to make sure everything is as good as it can be for the next day.

"There isn't any pressure on him at all and I am looking forward to seeing him grow over the course of 2014. It will be good for him to remain in one team setup for a whole year. He already feels that he will be a contender for the championship next year, and with the team and machinery behind him we will do all we can to fulfill his ambitions. His first win is there for the taking."
