Buildbase BMW have retained the services of James Westmoreland for the 2014 MCE British Superbike Championship and he will be partnered by Lee Jackson who remains in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 series.
Westmoreland finished fifth in last year's Showdown and wants to go one better next season after identifying areas where he and the S1000RR can improve.
"This is where I wanted to stay because of the passion to go racing. To get into the Showdown and end in fifth place was a fantastic achievement all round," said Westmoreland, speaking to bikesportnews.com at Motorcycle Live.
"We sat down at the end of the season and went through our performances. There were areas where the bike can improve and areas where I can improve. My style isn't quite right for the bigger bike so we will aim to change that to make the next step.
"I'm really happy to have re-signed and the plan is to come back stronger next season."
