Honda Europe's World Endurance star Julien Da Costa will double up as the company's MCE British Superbike test rider in 2014 and will race in four wildcard appearances at Snetterton, Donington Park, Silverstone and the Brands Hatch finale.
Da Costa has raced in BSB before, partnering Simon Andrews at MSS Kawasaki in 2009, and says he is looking forward to the experience of developing the championship-winning Fireblade ready for its return in 2015.
"I have signed with Honda Europe to compete in the World Endurance Championship on a CBR1000RR with Freddy Foray and Sébastien Gimbert, but I will also be in a few races in British Superbike," said the Frenchman.
"The official Samsung Honda team, who were champions in 2013 with Alex Lowes, still want to come back as strong in 2015 so they asked me to participate in the development programme with test sessions and four races during the season. I will participate at Snetterton, Donington Park, Silverstone and the final round at Brands Hatch which should be exciting."
