Tunstall back in the saddle for Superstock 1000 tilt

Doodson Motorsport’s Tom Tunstall will be back in the saddle for the 2014 season as he switches from the MCE British Superbike Championship to Superstock 1000 and to Kawasaki power.

Preparations are already well underway for the upcoming race season in the Pirelli-backec class with the first shakedown test completed at Cartagena in Spain last week.

The class leading ZX-10R has been built in conjunction with experienced MSS outfit, Tunstall said it was imperative to get start gathering data and an understanding of the new race bike. Plus following an almost 18 month racing sabbatical for Tunstall Tunstall there is plenty of catching up to do acclimatising back to a 200bhp 1000cc machine.

“It’s been a busy winter and we’re delighted to continue with Doodson’s loyal and enthusiastic support. Last week’s test was a bonus before our first test proper next week. It was fantastic to be back on a race bike and I can’t overstate how impressed I am with the ZX-10R,” he said.

“For a standard road bike with just some suspension upgrades and an Arrow exhaust both the engine and chassis are very impressive. I’ve got a load of cob webs to blow off but it was a great feeling and I can’t wait to get back out on it.”
