Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki’s Stuart Easton set the fourth quickest time in the second MCE British Superbike free practice session at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit – but even after producing a solid race pace of 45.802 he’s still not feeling ‘confident’ ahead of qualifying tomorrow.
Last year’s Motorpoint British Supersport champion is relishing his return to the premier class, but wont let himself feel relaxed on his ZX10-R even after positive setup changes this morning. The Scottish rider just wants to get the first round out of the way and bring home some solid points for his team in the opening races on Monday.
“It’s good to be back on a Superbike, we were third yesterday and ended today fourth quickest. We made quite a lot of changes today with the engine spec and it all fell in to place in the end,” said Easton, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
“I wouldn’t say I was confident at the moment, even though I was fourth today. I can’t say that I am relaxed, maybe because it’s the first round and I am on a new bike and returning to Superbikes.
“We made the bike longer and we worked on the engine braking too – which are big changes to make. But I just want to get two solid results on Monday – but it could be tricky tomorrow especially as it’s meant to be wet for qualifying."
