GBmoto Kawasaki’s James Ellison secured another double podium in the MCE British Superbike weekend to keep their one hundred percent record – and the Kendal lad is extremely ‘happy’ with his results, especially as he’s not fully fit after a crash at the last round at Brands Hatch.
Despite suffering from injury, Ellison was able to continue to improve throughout the weekend, qualifying in third place for the opening race and being one of only three riders to dip into a 1:34s.
Ellison eased to two third place finishes, just behind Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki’s Shane Byrne and Milwaukee Yamaha’s Josh Brookes. It was a case of déjà vu for the Kawasaki rider as he ended up on his own again on the track - unchallenged by the riders behind him. But Ellison is confident that he’s moving in the right direction.
“I’m definitely happy after this weekend, especially considering this is only the second race meeting for the GBmoto Kawasaki machines and coming into the weekend injured from Brands Hatch,” said Ellison.
“I’ve not been in too much pain actually and we’ve been really consistent in every practice session and much closer to the front so we’re definitely going in the right direction."
