Bike balance the key for Smrz

Millsport Ducati’s Jakub Smrz is confident he will be back to full fitness in the coming days after a back problem at Oulton Park slowed the Czech rider.

His team are working on the Panigale’s balance in order to increase corner-exit grip for the Snetterton MCE British Superbike round which is next on the calendar following a break for the Isle of Man TT.

“My team are making changes to find improvements for the next race at Snetterton. We still have some issues to solve with the bike balance and weight distribution, especially when accelerating. Since I arrived home from Oulton Park I have been visiting the chiropractor and physio to fix my back problem, which is already a lot better. Now I am working on my shoulder as the inflammation is still there, but it looks like I can be 100% fit for Snetterton,” said the Czech rider.

“I really like Snetterton because of its character; it’s like a European-style track. I have always been fast there and it is where I scored one of my best results last year, so it could be a very good weekend for us. We just need to continue working hard and not have any problems or bad luck. I already miss my team and the Ducati, and of course our goal is to do the best and fight for the podium. It is not an easy target, but not impossible.”
