Quattro Plant Kawasaki’s Dan Linfoot is racking up the points in the MCE British Superbike championship after another spate of top six finishes, and now the rider is up to fifth in the overall championship standings and has a Showdown spot.
The final six is the aim for the Wetherby lad, and it’s a case of so far so good, after consistent results have placed him firmly in contention in a spot for the title fight. But Linfoot still wants to work on his riding style, especially when it comes to maintaining corner speed.
“I am quite happy to be finishing in the top six, and that is where I want to be in the Showdown at the end of the season, so sixth and seventh this weekend is good, and now I am fifth overall in the series. I just want to work on my riding, as I feel weak in terms of my corner speed, but overall I am feeling good,” said Linfoot, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the track.
“I really want to chase the guys at the front, but it’s good to come away with nearly 20 points. The biggest thing with this bike is that it has a really strong motor, and you open the throttle and the bike does the rest, and I feel to have gelled quite well with the Kawasaki, as it is a great package, but I want to move forward.”
