GBmoto Kawasaki’s James Ellison has sustained a suspected broken hip in his race-two crash today at the Brands Hatch MCE British Superbike round and is currently in King’s Hospital, London undergoing secondary X-rays.

The Kendal man looks to have broken the ball at the top of the same femur he damaged in a huge crash at Church corner, Thruxton in 2010 which still has the rod which was inserted four years ago supporting it, wife Sarah confirmed to bikesportnews.com this evening.

It is not known yet how long Ellison will be out for but it is likely his title hopes for the 2014 season have taken a battering.
