Oulton BSB: Linfoot hails ‘mega’ debut podium

Quattro Plant Kawasaki’s Dan Linfoot clinched his maiden MCE British Superbike podium at Oulton Park this afternoon, after a string of fourth place finishes.

The rider was so close to a rostrum during the last round at Thruxton but was pipped to the post, not once – but twice. But this time he out-paced Buildbase BMW’s Ryuichi Kiyonari to take third, and to take his debut podium in the class.

Linfoot is understandably happy tonight, and admits that he has been ‘chasing the champagne’ for a while, and feels that a massive weight has been lifted off his shoulders. Now he has one podium credit to his name, but the Showdown is still the aim for the Kawasaki racer.

“I was still happy with the fourth’s that I got in previous rounds, and they were good points, but to get on the podium in third is mega, and my confidence has been building all the time. To bring some time back on Shakey has been enjoyable, and I feel that there has been a big weight lifted off my shoulders," said Linfoot, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

“I think I will feel a bit more relaxed going into the next rounds, but the Showdown is now my aim and goal. I have been building up for this as I wanted the podium so bad – and I have been chasing the champagne for a while now. I don’t know how realistic it is for me to win the championship, but I have one podium credit which is great.”
