Quattro Kawasaki’s Dan Linfoot is aiming for a brace of solid points scores at this weekend’s Cadwell Park MCE British Superbike round in order to push towards securing his Showdown spot.
But he says that when he is firmly fixed in the top six, it will be no holds barred in the final races to mix it up with the title challengers at Assen, Silverstone and Brands Hatch.
The Wetherby washing line is currently fourth in the series standings and Linfoot has a 14-point margin over Tommy Bridewell in fifth place but has also been on form over the last two rounds, taking his debut podium at Oulton Park.
“My aim for the weekend is to build on the points score and get closer to that Showdown spot. If it’s two fourths or two fifths, that’s ok but obviously if a podium place is in the offing, I am not going to be shy,” said Linfoot, speaking to bikesportnews.com this afternoon.
“As soon as that is done and the pressure is off, then we can really mix it up with the title challengers and put on a good display for the team in the last three rounds.”
